MTG: The Witcher
Nilfgaard Assassin Sign of Power — Aard Geralt, White Wolf Yennefer of Vengerberg Ancient Leshen Crazy Old Witcher Viper's Witcher

This is a Magic: The Gathering custom set based on the world and the lore of The Witcher. My main inspiration in creating this project is Star Wars: The Gathering. This custom expansion contains 300 original cards and focuses on creating a fun and complex draft experience, aswell as a fun cube pool of cards. If you enjoy the world of The Witcher and playing Magic: The Gathering then you are in the right place.

Factions

Nilfgaard Assassin

Nilfgaard's Empire

WB

This faction is centered around white and black colors with the Human-Soldier type being the most present card in it.

The core mechanics that are present in Nilfgaard are Strength in Numbers and Multitude.

Scoia'tael Cavalry

Scoia'Tael Rebels

BG

This factions breaths around green and black colors with the Elf-Rebel type being the most present card in it.

The Scoia'Tael share their core mechanics with Nilfgaard but have a different playstyle per se.

Geralt, White Wolf

Witchers

WRG

Witchers come in all shapes, so you can have a rainbow army of machine-killing monsters at your service if you want.

Their signature mechanics it's called Contract and they can have sometimes other faction's mechanics.

Yennefer of Vengerberg

Wizards

UBR

Wizards are unsurprisingly represented by red and blue colors, even if there are some examples of UB and RG mages around.

Their core mechanic it's called Sources of Power and might be one of the most straightforward and powerful abilities in the set.

Ancient Leshen

Monsters

UBRG

Monsters come in all colors and shapes, they mainly work on Multitude and Strength in Numbers mechanics and have a Sliver-like feeling.

They are an easy to play hard to master factions since you probably need 3 to 4 colors to get the most out of them.

Mechanics

Witcher’s Refuge

Contract

The Contract mechanic it's fairly simple: if something with a contract counter on it dies, something happens. Usually Witcher can put contracts on other creatures when they enter the battlefield, and they are usually those who get a bonus when the creature dies.

Usually Witcher can put contracts on other creatures when they enter the battlefield, and they are usually those who get a bonus when the creature dies.

Some witchers just put contracts on creatures and some witcher just get a bonus when a creature with a counter dies, but some witchers do both.

Impera Brigade

Multitude

This mechanic makes it really easy to always have a creature ready to enter the battlefield: when you play a creature card with multitude you can search your library for a creature card that shares one type with it and has the correct cost and put it on the top of your library after you shuffle it.

Slyzard

Strength In Numbers

Synergic with multitue, Strength in Numbers works when you have multiple creatures on the battlefield that share a type.

Even the smallest creature can help you power up other cards and can change the course of the game.

Aretuza's Adept

Sources Of Power

Sources of Power works with power counters and can be a really powerful mechanic: instead of paying the mana cost of a specific ability you can just remove a power counter and be done with it.

This can be especially helpful if you don't have the correct color/amount of mana...
